On 1-3-06, we received the following email and lovely photos from "Paisley"s" family. The email reads:
Hi Dee!
We adopted one of Sara's puppies in August 2005...we drove down from Maine (to personally pick her up). The drive was most definitely worth it! Paisley is such an asset to our family and she is so much more than we ever imagined. She is cuddly, well behaved, and very...very social!!! No matter where we go...everyone stops us to pet her and inquire about her. We just went to the Maine Mall last night to meet Santa on "dog night" and she did so well to wait in line for over an hour and a half and she just loved meeting all the children and the other dogs. We want to Thank you for such a wonderful addition to our family!!!
She brings joy to everyone who meets her. She has been spayed and has had her first hair cut and we were even able to find a few baby teeth to keep (the ones she didn't swollow). Her apricot color is slow to come through but her hair is so soft and very manageable. We brush her all the time (she loves to lick peanut butter from a spoon when we comb her). One of the things we like most about her appearance is her paws. They look like a Boyd's bear paw print they are so big, beautiful and perfectly rounded!!! Can you tell we are so very proud of her??
We are so goofy in love with her. Thank you for bringing us the opportunity to adopt one of your beautiful puppies!
Pamela Trempe
Dear Pamela,
Thank you so much for sending me such beautiful photos of Paisley!
It was nice meeting you and your family when you came out to pick her up and we definitely appreciate the fact you made the effort to drive so far! Our doodles are definitely worth everything we go through not to mention everything a family goes through to obtain one. It's so much hard work and TONS of effort on our part...but the end result is satisfied customers like yourself who can enjoy owning a superb canine to bring lots of happiness into your lives. Here is a photo (to the right) of when you first got her. It is so great to see our doodles turn out to be magnificent creatures as they turn into an adult! Keep those great photos coming!

Just recently (early January 2006) we received a phone call from Mike Luggio of New York who got his doodle right after Christmas. He took the largest male apricot Goldendoodle sired by Darby, that we had for Christmas. His phone message to me was:
Dee,
I'm just calling to tell you how enormously happy I am with my Goldendoodle from you! Immediately, the first day of getting him..he was walking on the leash...listening to my commands...we got stopped constantly during our walk and he is so beautiful...It's unreal!
I have given your phone number to many, many people who stop me and inquire about my Goldendoodle from you. I can't even begin to tell you how happy that both my wife and I are with this guy! He's the best dog I've ever owned and I want to thank you so much for letting him come into our lives. I'm letting you know that how pleased we are to own one of your Goldendoodles! HAPPY NEW YEAR AND GOD BLESS YOU!

On 1-14-06, the Birchfield family picked up Lilly's last available male Goldendoodle puppy.
To the right, I snapped a photo of him after he had just had a nice bath and his expression is hilarious!
"I was JUST fine without the bath!!!"
On 1-16-06, we received the following email from the Hoover family. They own "Blaze" who was born 6-26-05 and is out of "Sara's" litter. The following photos and email are:
"Hi Dee!,
Hope you had a wonderful holiday season! I have someone here who wants to say Hello!"
"Ruff Dee! It's Blaze...remember me? I am having a great time with my new parents and I am behaving myself so good! My parents keep telling me how smart I am, I am only 7 months old and I can Sit, Stay, Speak, Shake, Lay down, Fetch and catch a ball! I am learning more things too! My mom is starting to take me to puppy training classes, so maybe I can be a therapy dog one day! That is my dream. (I also understand the word NO...a little too well I might add!). I am eating alot....so much that now I weigh about 45 pounds. Everyone tells me how great my eyes are and how they can see into my soul. I don't really get that, I guess that is grown ups talking. I have lots of new friends that I play with all the time. I am getting along with my new sister (Dutchess, a toy poodle) just fine even though she is boring and she never wants to play. Anyway, I will let you go for now. Tell everyone that Blaze Hoover said RUFFFFF!
"Hi Dee! It's Matt and Kellie Hoover. Just thought you'd enjoy hearing from Blaze. He is such a wonderful addition to our family and we are having a blast with him! Thanks again for all that you are doing with this breed. "
Dear Matt, Kellie and Blaze! Thank you for the adorable photos and for saying hello! Hugs to all! Simply BEAUTIFUL, Blaze!!!! Dee
On Jan. 21, 2006 we received the card to the left from the "Springer" family who picked up a puppy from us during the Christmas Holidays. It says:
"Mr. & Mrs. Gerrish,
I'm sorry to be slow sending "Sunny's" vet receipt but as you can see we did take her to be checked out as soon as we got home, let her meet the children, etc.
The vet said she was the perfect weight and she was a nice healthy puppy. She was quiet on the way home from your house but as soon as she became comfortable at home, she really perked up! We will send you a picture as soon as she sits still long enough to take one. Actually she's doing great with her training. She knows her name & will sit, etc.
Thanks for everything, Jen
Thank YOU, Jen for letting us know Sunny is doing well and that all was great at her vet check up. We know you will have years of love from her and we look forward in seeing pics!
Dee
Jan. 22, 2006 we received the following email:
"In Sept. of 2005 we adopted our puppy from you. "Scout" has been growing in leaps and bounds and has developed an extrememly outgoing personality. He loves to retrieve, is smart as a whip, and if allowed he would like to be the boss. He truly has favorites among his toys---and like a baby-still needs to be put down for several naps throughout the day he surely is keeping us on our toes." Michele and Rick Allen Roslyn, New York
Thank YOU, Michele and Rick for letting us know that Scout is doing terrific. Please send us photos as soon as you have the time! Huggles!
Dee
2-2-06:
Thanks to the "Fancher" family for sending us a photo of Chloe and her best friend. Sooooo adorable! Keep those great photos rollin' in! We love'em!
Dee
On 2-2-06 we also got a nice email from Janice who owns "Ozzy".......
Hi Dee!
I thought I would give you an update on Ozzy. He just turned 7 mos old and weighed 52# at 6 months! We have a big guy on our hands! He is the SWEETEST dog anyone could ask for. One minute he will "wrestle" with the boys and then play "baby" for the girls. He has been completely housebroken for months. He has been trained to stay in our yard and does really well with it. He hasn't had an official haircut yet, just trims by me. He is a ball of fur! He hasn't shed one bit so far. He is very protective and gives a deep bark if he hears an unusual sound. He loves to play "fetch" and go on walks. We are so happy that we got him from you. I would tell everyone looking for a sweet, family dog get a Goldendoodle from you!!! Ozzy ROCKS!!!!
Janice Shagena
On 2-6-06 we received yet another email from a past doodle customer:
Dee, Just wanted to update you on our precious Doodle \"Boyer\" that we
picked up from you an January 14th 2006. The name came from my husband\'s
grandfather who raised and showed prized collie\'s all of his adult
life. If we had had a little boy we were going to name him Boyer, so we
felt that it was just the right opportunity to name our little furry
boy \"Boyer\".
We are all in love with him and can\'t wait to get him trained so he can
have run of the house and sleep in the bed with us. He is so very
smart and we are hoping that this training period will soon be over. He
can not stand to be alone and wants to be right at my feet or at our
sides at all times, of course, unless he is taking one of his many mini-naps.
We took him to the Vet on January 16th and he is their first
Goldendoodle patient. I think they were impressed with his personality
and calmness.
Thank you for breeding a wonderful family pet and one we hope does not
reach 65lbs. Family and friends are taking a pool on his weight. I do
hope the lowest weight wins, but I will love every pound of him.
Wendy Birchfield
Dee,
If you ever need a reference, you are welcome to use me as one. I've seen some of the "bull" on some internet forums, and I will be the first to stand behind you. You have such early contact with the puppies and I believe that really helps them to be so social and sweet. You also have spent alot of time deciding which goldens and which poodles would be the best to breed. It is very obvious! After our lab died (at 14 yrs old), I swore off ever having another dog. 5 years later, we looked into your doodles and I was sold! Needless to say my husband and kids were ecstatic. They wanted another dog much sooner than I did. I don't regret for one minute getting Ozzy. He has been just a perfect puppy! He is literally my "baby" now! He was born June 26, 2005 from Pierre and Sara's litter.
Keep on doing what you do. I know you have your heart into all of your dogs and it shows when you get a puppy that is so well socialized and adapts easily to a new home at just 7 weeks!
I bet the "Ozzy" web page is getting very full! My kids (and I!) get a kick out of seeing his pictures on your site. I will be sure to let you know his weight and height at 1 year old. Take care and thanks for bringing Ozzy into our lives!
Sincerely,
Janice
Thank you for the lovely photos, Janice and the nice comments. I am glad that you have seen some of the "BULL" that has been posted over the internet and can vouch that this is all it is....BS.
I can tell you that many of our customers came to our defense when they found the same BS written and they posted in those forums telling those people what ridiculous information was being laid out...but the owner of the site/s deliberately deletes all the positive postings so that it appears to the potential customer seeking a doodle, that we are supposed "BAD" breeders when that is so far from the truth. We have learned that the owner/s are charging their supposed "responsible" and "good" breeders a fee to have them listed on their forum and they are being paid to direct potential customers to those who pay to list on their site. So....it's a no-brainer to see where the motive to bash us and other breeders comes from.
I am very appreciative of those who send us their photos and their great comments and who keep in contact.....because this helps show, too, that not all is as it seems inside of those ridiculous dog forums and what a shame it is that there is no way to shut such forums down for allowing that kind of garbage to continue! Believe it or not, two of those forum owners have had it in for us since 1999!!!!!!! As unreal as it seems, their nonsense just never ends. When one gets down to the nitty gritty of disecting such sites and postings....you can always see what the motivation really is about and amazingly it is never actually about "preventing" anyone from having a bad experience with a breeder....it's about THEM LOSING MONEY when people looking for a Goldendoodle shops with anyone other than the breeders who pay THEM to list on their website.
Thank you, Wendy for keeping in contact with us! We hope you'll send us some photos...even if you have to use "snail mail"....keep lovin' that doodle! I am very appreciative of any photos you send because that little guy was my favorite. He so reminds me of his grandmother, Nikki. She hasn't passed away, but the great-great grandmom did in 2004 and we sure do miss her! I can't tell you how hard it was to let HIM go!

Hi Dee - and hello from Chloe from the July 4 litter!
She is doing great and everyone loves her. She is beautiful and the show stopper at the park!
Just curious - when do you find that Goldendoodles hit their full growth potential? Is it like
most dogs - at around one year old? She is 7 months now and 30 lbs. We like
that she is on the smaller side. Since you track so many of your puppies, I would be interested
in what you have found. Thanks, Sasha
Dear Sasha, you'll have to let me know again who her parents are so that I try and remember if anyone got back to me on that particular litter. It's been a madhouse here the last few weeks as I am trying to work on this site to make it friendly for the sight impaired and change some things as we grow and grow. I apologize for not remember what litter you had told me Chloe was from.
Dee

Lake Ridge Goldendoodles is The place for Goldendoodle owners to share their doodle dogs, photos and stories. We are doodle owner recommended and advertise on numerous Doodle breeder's lists across the net, many doodle hybrid and other canine resources. The Goldendoodle gets its name from its mixed heritage .... golden retriever and poodle. The Poodlecan be of any size. Goldendoodles are a hybrid dog, a first generation cross, and as such they can exhibit hybrid vigour. Hybrid vigor, however, has not been scientifically proven and is thus the personal opinion shared by many Poodle hybrid breeders. The hybrid cross between these two parent breeds are very family oriented dogs, friendly, intelligent, loving, cuddly and very affectionate. The Goldendoodle is easy to train. You will find our Lake Ridge Goldendoodle site the largest, most comprehensive and extensive doodle site on the net. Our DOODLE PLANET provides information regarding the shedding, coat phases of a Goldendoodle. The Goldendoodle is a low shedding dog and does work out well for many who have allergies. The goldendoodle, however, is NOT a hypo-allergenic dog regardless of how many people desire to believe this. Goldendoodles come in all sizes and colors. There are no "rare" markings for a Goldendoodle. A doodle dog's coat is generally very thick, shaggy and wavey as an adult. Sometimes the doodle can have a flat or curl coat. Their tail rides high above the back and is curled over. Some doodles sport long ears and some doodles sport ears that are short but flip over at the tips. Despite the fact many breeders claim they breed "Miniature Goldendoodles", the Kennel standard for a Miniature sized dog is NOT to stand over 15" in height from the highest point of the shoulders and they should not weigh over 25 pounds as an adult. Kennel Standards do apply to ALL MINIATURE SIZED DOGS REGARDLESS OF BREED. Any dog weighing over twenty five pounds as an adult is not considered to be a Miniature sized dog. The size of the Poodle does not define the size of goldendoodle offspring. The Goldendoodle's entire lineage plays 100% in the genetic make up of a Goldendoodle.
