We've paird up our Toy Poodle with a Golden Retriever for small Goldendoodles!  The sire to the left  is  apricot with black tips and weighs 8 pounds.  He does have long legs and it is the reason we chose him as a sire to see if his long leggedness could produce Goldendoodles for us who would not only be smaller....but would have a well rounded body structure instead of producing long bodied small doodles with stumpy legs!  Ceasar is very sweet natured and is the son to BLUE....our very calm, well mannered TOY POODLE who is silver in color.  Our toy Poodles have ALL COLORS in their pedigree.
THIS was a natural breeding and NOT by artificial insemination.   I held our Golden Retriever female downward while Ceasar mounted her naturally.  Of course because our girl is much larger and taller, I also had to stay with them until they finished tying so that Ceasar was not hurt if she stood up.   Our Golden Retriever dam is 48 pounds.
Our Golden Retrievers are terrific dogs
The first puppy born is  an apricot female with black tips.  This color apricot is not the same apricot that we usually see.  This apricot is a color that is rarely seen in Poodles and is quite unique. Many show breeders bred out this color in their poodles because they considered the color "undesirable".    When we call our Goldendoodles apricot, we mean that the color is light with gold hues.  This particular apricot to the left will lighten as the puppy ages and really is more like a "cream sable".   The color of this puppy to the left is the same color her father was when HE was just a puppy.  Now he is very light.   This puppy will lighten up to a very light creamy color  but will have black tips on every strand of her  hair.  Apricot with black tips is very difficult to achieve and more so in the Goldendoodle.
The second puppy born is a white male that will turn cream.   He is still wet with the forceps on his umbilical cord in this photo as he was just born and as always if they don't deliver after I am already asleep,   I am right there to deliver each puppy and stay with the mother until the very last puppy is born.  I was with this particular litter until 3am making sure all were born. This particular litter had five puppies, but one was a  stillborn  beautiful male that was  tri-color.   Unfortunately this can occur with any litter from causes unknown.  It is always sad when a puppy doesn't make it or dies while in utero.
Our third pup born was another cream male, just a bit smaller than the male that was born second.   It is always nice to see them fluffy right after birth.
This indicates a nice long, fluffy coat as an adult.  Every puppy in this litter is, at birth,  was the size of a Hamster except for the stillborn male.  Because this is the first time we have ever used a TOY Poodle with a Golden Retriever we decided to keep 2 of the puppies for studies on the exact information on growth from such a  mixture.
A 3 a.m. delivery is rough not only on the mother but for me too,   But when I saw this gorgeous, true Parti-colored doodle come out....I can't even describe how quickly my energy level came back!
This is the very first time....since creating the Goldendoodle in all these years and desiring to create an actual Parti-colored Goldendoodle that the goal was finally achieved.  Caesar has a heavy parti colored background...so this was terrific!  Not a puppy with white feet or a white nose or just a tad of white on the chest....an actual parti-color like you'd see in a Poodle!!!   THIS GIRL IS GORGEOUS!  Sorry, this girl was mine the minute she came out.   She is exactly what we have tried for years to achieve and never in a million years would I have dreamt that we could achieve this from using our TOY POODLE as a  sire!
These puppies continue to thrive and grow in normal proportions.  They are absolutely adorable!
Today,  August 16th  2005  is their first day and they are eating vigorously and appear to be doing very well.
August 20, 2005:  Sometimes it is necessary to bottle feed puppies,  especially if there are smaller ones trying to compete for milk with the bigger ones.    The apricot w/black tips female pup is presently being "guarded" because she is the smallest in the litter and to ensure she gets plenty of food....she is being supplemented with regular bottle feedings.  Because this entire litter is very...very small and the mother is much bigger,  a near constant vigil is a must to try and keep mom from accidentally laying on the puppies....a common occurance with large dogs.  So far,  all four pups are getting along splendidly.  Sorry the photos above are somewhat blurred!  It is quite difficult to bottle feed a puppy in one hand and hold a camera in the other!  Multi-tasking is a necessity around here!
August 24, 2005:  Our new little doodles are growing and gaining weight.  I tried over and over to line them up in size,  but like a bucket of worms,  you can't seperate puppies!  They seem to have an invisible magnet that makes them stick together and huddle!!!!  As soon as I lined them up...they wriggled back toward each other and huddled again.  After six  attempts, I gave up!  You'll have to figure it out on your own.   The photo above left  I had the largest male (solid white) first....the largest female (parti-color) the smallest male (solid white) and the smallest female (apricot w/black tips).  The photo above right, you can see they had already spread out like a bucket of worms wriggling around.  Puppies who are newborn are very strange to watch.
The two males are to the left.  Please don't ask me at this time to give you any weight indications.  I have no idea!  This is new to us using a TOY POODLE as one of the parents.   The ONLY REASON this litter was sired with a TOY POODLE is to break the myth regarding the "MINIATURE GOLDENDOODLE" theory  that some doodle  breeders are putting out there.  You will find that my website is based on facts....not myth!  I am all about facts and finding out the information first hand and not by "reading what others put on the internet"!!!
Right now,  these pups are very fluffy and quite adorable.

The two females are to the right.  It is quite obvious in both photos  (above and to the right) the size difference between the puppies...but I can personally tell you as of August 24, 2005  1 male is the largest of this litter (we lost the male who was tri-colored and was even larger than the largest surviving male...he was stillborn)..with the tri-colored female being the second largest....the other white male is smaller, but the apricot female w/black tips is the smallest.   So, we have already busted the first myth that we have seen put out by some doodle breeders.
The myth??  That all of the puppies in the litter  are SMALL when using a TOY POODLE as one of the parents for Goldendoodles.  NOT TRUE!  Once again,  we prove ourselves to be correct when we say that ANY SIZE CAN OCCUR  with hybrid litters regardless of the size of the parents used!!!!
As of September 2nd, 2005....These tiny doodles are doing extremely well.  However, we have seen a size shift with the puppies!  The fourth male pup that was born has turned out to be smallest  and  the apricot female who originally was the smallest, is now the second smallest.  It is very funny to see the sizes shift as time passes.  The female to the left is the tri-color and my, oh my,  what a cutie!!!

UPDATE:  As of January 23, 2006 we have seen yet another size shift between the females.  The apricot w/black tips has turned out to be the same weight as the tri-color female...but she has longer legs and is taller.  Our smallest male is still the smallest and the other white male is the largest in the surviving litter.  All are still on the small side compared to our regular size doodles.
This boy to the right is now the largest male in the litter and as you see, his eyes are opening....at the time this photo was taken, just one eye was completely open...but now both are open. His nose is just partially pink and he is simply adorable and super fluffy! His nose did turn completely solid black by the time he turned a bit older.
This little female to the left  is the  apricot with black tips. Yes, she is dark right now...but soon she won't be!   She will continue to lighten in color just as her father and aunt did.    Too cute!
And here's the little man!  he only weighs ounces right now! Eating vigorously, it is all I can do to keep a close vigil to make sure he isn't being laid on!  He is only the size of a very small hampster! Literally!  Sooo tiny as a matter of fact, he fits snuggly into the palm of my hand.  Stay tuned!!!

As of September 8th, 2005 I have taken some more photos but haven't had the time to place them on this page.  This little male to the right has completely captured my heart!   He fits literally inside of the round portion of the bottom of a bowl and is very frisky in temperament!  Adorably cute! He has matured much quicker than his siblings to my surprise!!!  The entire litter is getting fluffier.   They are still doing alot of sleeping at this point in time and nursing.  I can't wait until they get a bit older!
I named this little fella "Shorty".
The smallest male is Soooo small, he literally fits in the round section of a small bowl!
The smallest male is Soooo small, he doesn't even make one key on my computer keyboard move when he stands or sits on them!  This litter is now nearly 3 weeks of age.
HOW SMALL IS HE???
Let's put it this way...the smallest male is sooo small....he is half the size of a newborn "average" sized Goldendoodle and he is 3 weeks old!
(see photo to the left and below.  The 3 wk old male is white and the newborn goldendoodle is from Nickie's litter who was just born.)
So, what's up with the rest of the crew?  Well...check out the largest male in this litter!
He can fit snuggly inside of his mother's food bowl and looks like he found it to be quite cozy enough to take a nap in it!!!  (see photo below).
Looks like the girls are napping and all snuggly too!
September 17, 2005!  Our tiny little doodles are doing just excellent! Growing like weeds and learning how to eat food on their own.  Soon, they'll be ready for new homes!
This little girl will lighten up to an apricot with black tips.  She will not remain dark.
This little girl is Parti-color and we named her "Suri".   Her tan markings will  lighten up substantially but her white will stay white.
"He's MY brother!!!  No....He's MY brother!!!"
This little boy will remain cream. They are becoming exceptionally fluffy!
"Your nose is very tasty!!"
"Can I tell you a secret??"
"Whatcha Lookin' at??"
These pups are learning how to eat solid food.
These pups are learning also how to walk and are exploring each others' personality.  See them playing in the photo below.
"Shorty" is so small as of now, that he  fits inside of a very  small ice cream container.  At nearly four weeks of age, he weighs only ounces.  But has POUNDS of personality!!!!!!!!

Today,  September 18th,  2005  Shorty  got his first bath!  Even the spray nozzle is larger than he is!
He is so tiny I washed him with one hand and held him in the other.

As with all of our Goldendoodles,  this litter has the same thick, fluffy coat..........this little boy is no exception.  He is very, very fluffy !
Our goldendoodles make wonderful photography subjects and I personally love black and white images.

I've really taken a shine to this little ...itsy...bitsy...boy I named Shorty.

Our little doodles are being weaned from mom except for the teeniest boy...he only weighs ounces!  The others are weighing, as of Sept. 25th, 2005  just slightly over 2 pounds.
These little doodles love chewing on my fingers since they are now teething!  They are so beautiful and sweet....and still so very little and cute!
As of October 2nd, 2005  they are now weaned from mom.....eating on their own and their deworming process is completed.   They have stayed completely healthy and growing at a normal rate.   They have received their first NEO-PAR puppy vaccine.  It is nice to see these puppies are very healthy,  super fluffy and so sweet they'd melt your heart in seconds!
Today, October 15th, 2005...one of our new doodle family members got to meet "Shorty"....he is the smallest doodle in this litter who weighs just 2 pounds at 8 weeks of age!  He is a little fire cracker and I call him my "POCKET DOODLE".   He made friends and had a blast with the Rowley family and their new little doodle of out Nickie's litter.
As of March 10, 2007 Shorty now weighs approx. 12 pounds and is still a little firecracker!
This litter is growing like little weeds....so playful and adorable! Did I mention BEAUTIFUL???  Nearly 10 wks old,  they are still little and growing properly.  Not to mention, they are very, very healthy!
All of the puppies in this litter are VERY SHAGGY!
They are very loving, playful and too darned cute! These pups  continue to grow proportionately well......are not "high-strung" or "hyper".....they act just like normal growing and playful puppies and are far more gorgeous in person than their photos.

Dec. 28, 2005:

All of these doodles have been growing at a normal rate....have stayed very healthy and are just so adorable that photos don't even do them justice!!!!!!!

This adorable male (Who was given to a customer in New Jersey)  (who is the largest in the litter) now has a solid black nose as of January 23, 2006.  He is wet in the photo to the right because they had just finished eating.  He cleans up beautifully however and definitely must get a bath!
My little buddy to the right..."SHORTY".   He is the smallest white male in this litter and has remained with me.  As of March 10, 2007 he weighs approx. 12 pounds and is fully grown.

This litter at   5 months old as of Jan. 23, 2006  have remained small and grew nice in proportion.   Shorty (right),  is approx. 6 lbs as of Jan. 23, 2006 and  he loves for me to hold him . He is very attached to me and I to him.

September 21, 2006:  Shorty weighs now 10 pounds and still cute as can be!

UPDATE: OCTOBER 2007: Shorty weighs just 13 pounds and is completely grown.
As of April, 2006 the pups in this litter continue to grow at a normal rate.  This male to the left, who is the largest in this particular litter weighed in at 18 pounds when he was 9 months old and was weighed just a few days prior to his leaving us for his new family in New Jersey.
As of 5-6-06,   The apricot female with black tips...up above.... at seven months of age weighed  just 11 pounds and was spayed.   She now resides with her family in North Carolina.   Her sister, below, is smaller and shorter and we have kept her.  We  named her "Suri". (Yes...we loved the name that Tom Cruise gave his baby daughter and now our doodle is named Suri, too!)  Suri has her own doodles pups now and you can CLICK HERE to view them.

October 2007: Unfortunately "Penny's" (doodle above) family dumped her off with a trainer  not too long after getting her because Penny did not like the woman's kids.  We are glad to say that Penny has found a loving and lasting, permanent home with a wonderful woman name Marion and Penny also shares her time now with her sister Suri's  son,  Teddy...another Toy doodle.

About Small Goldendoodles
THIS IS A LONG PAGE, SO JUST KEEP ON SCROLLING!
I can't say enough about this tri-color female!  Too cute for words.    On  5-6-06,  Suri only weighed  ten pounds.  Suri is shorter than her dad, Ceasar, who is the small Toy Poodle and weighs just 8 pounds.
Suri now weighs 13 pounds as of July 24, 2006.  She is full of energy and is very playful and loves to give kisses!
I simply adore her.   As of March 10, 2007 Suri now weighs 13 pounds and she is fully grown.
Suri...a small lrk goldendoodle
parti-colored LRk Toy Poodle
This very pretty little Toy Poodle male was born to us in 2006 . He is a white/black Parti.  He will be Suri's future husband.

This little cutie is very sweet and  "Pretty" but shhhh!!! He's a boy and we don't want him to know he's "pretty".

ABOUT OUR SMALL GOLDENDOODLES
suri, our tri-color small goldendoodle female meets her future husband
Suri  and Noel meet for the first time and have a blast playing.  Noel is not sure who Suri is, but he thinks she's pretty playful!
Suri and Noel play together.
hold up, slick! Noel seems to be saying to Suri.
Suri is very interested in playing with her new friend, Noel,  but he's not quite sure about Suri, yet.
Suri, a very happy small female goldendoodle in our goldendoodle world
Suri is a very happy little girl.    She was  the smallest female Goldendoodle we had  created since 1999 until she had her OWN doodles who are MUCH smaller than she is.    We  bred Suri with our black and tan phantom male who weighs approx. 6 pounds and  has a nice thick, curly coat.  Neither dog is related so their offspring is considered a first generation. MY HOW YOU'VE GROWN!!!!!!!!!  This cream male was the largest surviving puppy in the litter written about on this page.  On June 15, 2006 he weighed in at just 18 pounds and 1 ounce!!!!!!!  Talk about gorgeous......his coat is like cotton-candy.....he has bloomed into a stunning and quite handsome small doodle!
He flew to New Jersey on June 16, 2006 to be with his new family and unfortunately they did not keep in contact with us like they promised, nor have they sent any updated photos which is very disappointing to me.

Suri...our small female goldendoodle
Black and tan phantom male Toy Poodle
Suri was  bred to the small male Toy Poodle,  up above (he now resides in California with his new daddy).   Both tied on July 24, 2006.  Because neither are related,  their created offspring is  considered a First Generation.    SURI'S LITTER WAS BORN SEPTEMBER 21, 2006.  We decided not to use Noel because he was not old enough to sire a litter at the time.

MY HOW YOU'VE GROWN! SURI, OUR TOY GOLDENDOODLE HAS GROWN UP AND BECOME A PRECIOUS GIRL.
SURI IS A CUTE LITTLE PRINCESS IN HER DESIGNER DOODLE DRESS.
SURI IS A CUTE LITTLE TOY GOLDENDOODLE GIRL FROM OUR GOLDENDOODLE WORLD
MY HOW YOU'VE GROWN UP!  Suri is all grown up now as of October 2007!  She still weighs just 13 pounds but is a real cutie!  For Halloween,  Suri decided to go out in her Designer Doodle dress and little hair bow!

Her coat coloring has changed so much and you can barely recognize the fact she is tri-color.  Even Noel has lightened quite a bit and his patches are barely visible, even though he is a parti-Poodle.  Suri is still a lovely toy goldendoodle and as sweet as can be providing you are NOT a stranger.  ;o)
